Medical micro needling
What is Micro Needling?
Medical micro needling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is an innovative and advanced anti-ageing therapy designed to improve the appearance of the skin. It is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure.
The technique involves using multiple tiny sterile needles to puncture the skin causing micro injuries. This triggers the body’s healing response by releasing growth factors that stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. The result is smoother texture and younger looking skin.
Micro needling can be safely performed on all skin types, but it does involve pre and post treatment protocols, so a consultation prior to treatment is required.
Micro needling can treat sensitive and fragile areas that are difficult to treat with other modalities such as the eyes, neck and back of hands.
It is important to realize that micro needling is not a quick fix as it involves the growth of new skin. It can take months. Best results are observed with 3-6 treatments spaced out at 2-6 week intervals.
Treatment plans will vary and we will advise on the recommended number of treatments at your consultation.
Micro needling does require some preparation. Book to discuss any concerns and get your personalized treatment plan.
